want to help those caught in the floods?

the floods across qld are such a  tragedy and they need our help.

the lj hooker currumbin office is the drop off centre (for the southern gold coast area) for items to assist those who have lost everything in the floods.

Clothes

Sheets

Towels

Blankets

Toys

Puzzles

Books

Toiletries

Nappies

Nappy Wipes

Mozzie Spray

Kitchen Utensils

Furniture

Electrical Items

Pet food

You name it,  there are many people that have lost everything so what ever you can donate will be appreciated.

If you are coming to the market tomorrow, please bring along a can of food or old clothes waiting to go to vinnies. I'll have an area where we will be collecting items to donate.

A truck company has volunteered there time and money to transport the products across the state, so if you can bring your items in a box for ease of storage in the truck that would be brilliant, otherwise in a bag is fine.

todays market

this morning for some reason i started documenting what i was doing and what i need to do in order to get ready for a market.....if you're interested, here's what i got down (i cheated a bit and have just finished the last parts! well everything after 6:44!)

5:14: get woken up by my step-son, L. Jump in shower

5:33: look outside....overcast but looks like it should clear up

5:36   attempt to look at bom....no internet

5:37   a reboot of the wireless and crisis averted

5:39  Southeast Coast District

Forecast for Saturday

Cloudy with isolated showers. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms developing in the afternoon and evening. Light to moderate NW to SW winds.

5:50   done my bits and pieces on facebook....status updates etc.

5:55  checked hotmail, answered emails and printed out the “map”

6:30 after getting my market box organised, orders finished, make-up on and replied to a couple of txts i think i’m actually ready to go early for the first time in a  really long time!

6:40   mango for brekky. Got L to take a photo of me eating it for my photo today. ..very summery.

6:44   thought about uploading photos ive just taken onto facebook, but realise i’ll most certainly be late if i do that. Put memory card back into camera. I must now go get my camera bag....poo, think it’s in my sewing room which is unaccessible right now.

6:55   earliest i’ve left the house on market day....record breaking day today!

7:10  Even though i only live 3 mins from the market venue, only just arriving now....i blame mum for forgetting ...whatever it was she forgot that we had to go back for.

7:10-7:45  Work out how i'm going to fit so many massive tents into the soaking wet and muddy backyard (they all fitted in so nicely on my word document!)

7:45  start setting up my own stall

10:42  just realise what the time is now....the morning’s gone very fast!

11:00  decide to stay a wee bit longer.

11:15 everyone is packing up, slowly start to pack up

11:40  all completely packed up and absolutely no one around to buy anyway. A successful market day was had. By me anyway!

the stall holders who marketed today were:

today we had 17 stalls turn up...the most ever! it was a great day and i thought it was awesome to see so many stalls.

2 new badges in from our stall holders.....

the second one in was from sister in style . she creates beautiful beaded jewellery in a huge variety of different styles. and all at resonable prices too. what more could you want?

our 3rd badge in was by kids clothes label krumpet.

they have the cutest little shorts and tees for boys and girls. she is doing her first market with us tomorrow : )

i have asked our stalls holders to send me a photo of their label so i can create a badge/button for the sidebars. i just the first one in...from miss me accessories. they make beautiful clips and headbands for little girls and the big girls in us all.

the jan market will be in the 2nd week of jan...so thats the 8th of jan 2011, as i don't think we'll be getting too many keen marketers bright eyed and bushy tailed at 8am on the 1st of jan : ) i know i certainly won't be!  so pop that in your calendar when you get it...the 8th of jan...the 2nd week of january, not the first.

(and yep, i'm breaking my own rule and publishing this post without a photo. gasp.)
